Commenters on any LinkedIn profile

What LinkedIn Comments is for

Commenting on a post is a public act of interest. Someone who writes a paragraph under a post about a problem has raised their hand more clearly than anyone in a purchased contact list ever will.

LinkedIn Comments collects everyone who engaged with a given post. Point it at a thought leader's post about the problem you solve, a competitor's announcement, or an industry debate, and you get a list of people who chose to participate.

This is the warmest cold outreach available. You know exactly what they were reading, what they said about it, and therefore what to open with.

How it works

Supply a post URL. Any public LinkedIn post works — someone else's, a competitor's, or your own.

The comment thread is collected along with each commenter's identity and profile URL, so you get both what was said and who said it.

The comment text is the valuable part. It is a written statement of the person's position on a topic you care about, which is a far stronger personalisation hook than a job title.

Feed the resulting profile URLs into LinkedIn Profiles to add role and company, then into Message Writer to draft openers that reference what each person actually wrote.

What each result contains

What you get

  • Pull every commenter on any LinkedIn post or profile.
  • Commenters have already demonstrated engagement with your topic.
  • Use for warm outreach — these leads know the conversation before you reach out.

Example use case

A consultant finds a widely-shared post about a pain point they solve and collects all eighty commenters. Every one has publicly discussed the problem, in their own words, within the past week — the opening line writes itself.

When to choose this source

Use this when a specific post has attracted your buyers. To find posts worth mining in the first place, LinkedIn Posts searches by keyword. To build a list by role rather than by engagement, use Leads Finder.

Limitations worth knowing

Output quality depends entirely on post choice. A post about your exact problem returns gold; a generic motivational post returns a random cross-section of the platform.

You get commenters, not reactors. People who only liked a post are not included — but comments are the higher-intent signal anyway.

Comment volume varies enormously. Most posts have a handful; a viral one may have hundreds. Check the post before sizing a run.

Commenters are enthusiasts and opinion-havers, which skews toward the vocal. Quiet buyers with the same problem will not appear here at all.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find good posts to mine?
Use LinkedIn Posts to search by keyword for posts about your problem space, then pick the ones with high comment counts. That two-step is the whole workflow.
Can I use a competitor's post?
Yes, and it is one of the highest-value applications. People commenting on a competitor's announcement are, by definition, engaged with the category.
Do I get contact details?
You get names and profile URLs. Run those through LinkedIn Profiles for role and company detail, or LinkedIn Phones for a direct dial.
Does this work on my own posts?
Yes, and it is an efficient way to systematically follow up with everyone who engages with your content rather than replying ad hoc.
