Reddit Pro

High-volume subreddit + keyword discovery

What Reddit Pro is for

Reddit is where people describe problems at length, to strangers, without a marketing filter. Someone evaluating tools writes three paragraphs about what they need and what they have already rejected. That is qualitative research most companies pay agencies to produce.

Reddit Pro is the thorough way to collect it. It runs three collection modes — monitor named subreddits, discover relevant ones, or search across the platform — and can pull comment threads alongside posts, which is usually where the real detail sits.

At three credits per result it is priced for volume, because useful Reddit analysis needs hundreds of posts rather than dozens. Patterns only emerge once you can see the same complaint phrased five different ways.

How it works

Monitor mode takes a list of subreddits and collects posts by sort and timeframe — top posts this month from four communities, for example. This is the mode for ongoing tracking of places your buyers already gather.

Discover mode takes topic terms and finds relevant subreddits for you. It is the right starting point when you do not yet know where your audience congregates, and it regularly surfaces small niche communities with far better signal than the large obvious ones.

Search mode runs keyword queries across Reddit and returns matching posts wherever they live. Use it for phrase patterns that indicate buying intent — 'looking for a tool that', 'what does your team use for', 'frustrated with'.

Comment collection is a separate switch, and it changes the quality of the output. The post asks the question; the comments contain the recommendations, the objections, and the competitor names. For intent work, collect comments.

What each result contains

FieldTypeDescription
titlestringPost title — usually the clearest statement of the problem.
bodystringFull post text, the primary input for intent and summarisation.
authorstringUsername of the poster.
subredditstringCommunity the post appeared in — context for interpreting it.
scorenumberNet upvotes, indicating community agreement.
numCommentsnumberComment count; high counts mark posts worth reading in full.
createdAtdatetimePost timestamp.
urlurlDirect link to the thread.
comments[]object[]Comment text and authors, when comment collection is enabled.

What you get

  • Monitor any subreddit or keyword for mentions, sentiment, and buying signals.
  • Pull high-volume post and comment data across multiple communities in one run.
  • Feed results into AI Intent Detection to surface in-market conversations.

Example use case

A founder monitors five subreddits for mentions of a competitor and collects 300 posts with comments. Intent Detection flags 22 threads where people are actively comparing alternatives, and the Post Summarizer distils the recurring objections into a page the product team actually reads.

When to choose this source

Use this when you need depth and volume — real research rather than a spot check. Reddit Lite is the cheaper option for a quick scan of a single subreddit. For real-time reaction to a launch or a named competitor, Twitter moves faster.

Limitations worth knowing

Reddit is pseudonymous. You get a username and what they wrote, not a name, company, or email. It is excellent for understanding a market and poor for building a contact list.

Community norms punish overt selling. Reddit is best used as a listening and research source; direct outreach to posters should be considered carefully, and posting promotionally is a good way to be banned.

Discover mode returns communities matching your terms, and relevance varies. Review the subreddit list it produces before running a large collection against it.

Enabling comments multiplies the result count, and therefore the cost, substantially. Start with a small run to gauge the ratio before committing to a large one.

Frequently asked questions

Should I collect comments?
For intent and competitive work, yes — comments are where recommendations and objections live. For tracking what topics are being raised, posts alone are cheaper and sufficient.
How is this different from Reddit Lite?
Pro adds subreddit discovery, multi-mode collection, comment threads, and higher volume, at three credits per result. Lite is a straightforward single-community scan at ten. Pro is better value at volume; Lite is simpler for a one-off look.
How do I find the right subreddits?
Use discover mode with your topic terms. It often surfaces small niche communities that carry far better signal than the obvious large ones.
Can I search for specific phrases?
Yes, and phrase patterns are the highest-signal approach. 'Looking for a tool that' or 'frustrated with' find people mid-decision far more reliably than a product category keyword.
Can I contact people I find?
You get usernames, not contact details. Many teams find the poster elsewhere — LinkedIn, for instance — and reach out with full context. Direct promotional replies on Reddit are usually counterproductive.
